Rich Paul reveals LeBron James’ future after an unforgivable mistake on live TV: Is he a free agent?

The future of LeBron James in the NBA is one of the hottest topics in American sports right now and nobody is certain where the Los Angeles Lakers legend will be playing next season.

LeBron looks closer than ever to leaving the Lakers with various events and frustrations coming to the surface.

He has a player option for the upcoming season but will become an unrestricted free agent afterwards. There are plenty of rumors that the Lakers will look to trade LeBron during this offseason, and his son Bronny James entering the 2024 NBA Draft has been another factor in the story.

Rich Paul’s blunder

LeBron’s agent, Rich Paul, seemed to make a serious slip-up whilst on the TNT AltCast for Game 2 between the Dallas Mavericks and the Minnesota Timberwolves.

“And you know, look, LeBron’s a free agent. You have to decide, and I gotta focus on his business, and he should be focused on his business, and let the Lakers hire whoever they wanna hire. And he’s always showed up and played for whatever coach is there,” Paul said.

Obviously, that went viral and LeBron may be asking his agent why he made such an unprofessional move on live television.

He was then asked if there is a real chance that LeBron will not extend with the Lakers.

“You know, I’ll do my business over here. I don’t know what he’s gonna do. We’re gonna do what we do every year. We’re gonna evaluate the situation and we’re gonna make the best decision, Paul said.

“There’s no need to try to drive a specific narrative or try to dodge anything. It is what it is. I think he’s earned the right to have and put it through one of that, obviously, but it’s just not the case.”
