Hiram Kasten, ‘Seinfeld’ regular and comedian, dies at 71

Hiram Kasten, a standup comic who was most well-known for his work on “Seinfeld,” has died. He was 71.According to a statement on his Facebook page posted by his family, Kasten passed away in Batavia, New York after dealing with a prolonged illness. His family did not detail the illness that was the cause of his death, however, they did say that he had been fighting many illnesses including prostate cancer.While from New York and often performing at comedy clubs throughout the city, Katsen moved to Los Angeles in the 90s to pursue acting where he most notably worked on “Seinfeld.” Katsen worked alongside Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Elaine’s co-worker. Katsen also made appearances on “7th Heaven,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Everybody Loves Raymond,” and several other shows. Kasten is survived by his wife Diana and their daughter Millicent.
